Benefits of Volunteering!
1. Connection and Community
Meet like-minded parents - build genuine friendships with others who understand the joys and challenges of family life.
Become part of a supportive nationwide network of volunteers who believe in helping families connect and thrive.
Enjoy a sense of belonging within your local Cuidiú branch (like Cuidiú Cork).
2. Making a Difference
Create safe, welcoming spaces for parents and children to meet, play, and share experiences.
Support other families - especially new parents who may feel isolated or unsure where to turn.
Know that your time directly helps other parents feel less alone and more confident.
3. Personal Growth and Confidence
Gain new skills in event organisation, communication, teamwork, leadership and problem solving.
Build confidence in hosting groups, welcoming new people, and taking on responsibility in a supportive environment.
Many volunteers find it’s a great way to rebuild confidence, identity, and skills during or after parental leave.
Volunteering with Cuidiú provides real-world experience that looks great on your CV or LinkedIn profile.
You can demonstrate skills such as coordination, facilitation, safeguarding awareness, teamwork, and community engagement.
Cuidiú offers training, guidance, and mentoring to help volunteers succeed – whether you host playgroups, help with admin, or support parent education.
Volunteers receive access to Cuidiú materials, insurance coverage, and promotional support for their events.
You’re never alone - there’s always a team to back you up.
5. Recognition and Belonging
Volunteers are valued members of the organisation - their contributions are celebrated locally and nationally.
Many branches hold social meet-ups or thank-you events to celebrate volunteer involvement.
Being part of Cuidiú feels good - you’re contributing to something positive, inclusive, and community-driven.
6. Flexibility and Fun
You can volunteer as much or as little as fits your life - from hosting an occasional coffee morning to helping run a weekly playgroup.
It’s relaxed, family-friendly, and adaptable - your children are welcome, and the focus is on community, not perfection.
It’s also fun - laughter, chats, and shared experiences are at the heart of every Cuidiú event.

Committee Members usually also volunteer in other ways - hosting groups, managing socials, as a trained supporter or generally supporting events - we work together to ensure the smooth running and sustainability of the branch.
All Committee Members must have valid Cuidiú membership (for insurance purposes).
